Section 8 Renewal Policy Guide Book Revisions Posted for Public Comment
Comments on proposed revisions to the Section 8 Renewal Policy Guide Book are due by November 15, 2010. The comprehensive Renewal Policy Guide provides HUD’s guidance for renewing expiring Section 8 contracts. More information on submitting comments can be found in the Federal Register Notice (FR 5451-N-01). The Section 8 Renewal Policy Guide Book text and the list of proposed revisions can be found on HUD’s Section 8 Contracts website.

CBO Issues Budget Score for Frank Preservation Bill
On October 8, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its cost estimate for the Housing Preservation and Tenant Protection Act of 2010 (H.R. 4868). If enacted, H.R. 4868 would have a discretionary cost of $21.3 billion and a decrease in direct (mandatory) spending of $19 million for the 2011-2015 period.
